DAS is proud to have supported the Library of Congress in their 16th annual National Book Festival, on September 24th, 2016. The well-attended event was hosted at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, the stages hosted well-known authors such as Stephen King, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Newt Gingrich, and Harlan Coben, to name a few. The event was free to all, and sign language interpreters were stationed at nearly every stage to provide equal access to Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing attendees, fostering a commitment to literacy and reading both in the Deaf Community and in the DC Metro area community as a whole.

DAS provided a team of nearly 40 nationally certified and highly qualified professionals to ensure this event was accessible to all. DAS is proud to support events like this one in our Nation’s capital and beyond. To find out more about the National Book Festival, check their website at http://www.loc.gov/bookfest/, and mark your calendar for next year!
