Please welcome the newest member of the DAS coordination team, Amy Speer! Ms. Speer makes our 8th full-time coordinator to round out our team. In her previous job, Amy was a Program Manager for the Governor’s Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Maryland. One of her primary duties was coordinating interpreters for their meetings. As a Deaf individual, her skills will translate well to working on the coordination team with clients, consumers, and interpreters. Amy earned her Bachelor’s degree from Gallaudet University in Government in 2008. During her time at Gallaudet career, she was involved in a variety of programs, including the Institution of Political and Leadership Access and the Women Leadership Training Institute. Amy now resides in her home town, Tucson, AZ.
Amy loves spending time with family, visiting other cities, and walking outdoors when the weather is nice. “I am excited to join the DAS team. I believe in accessibility for all Deaf and hard-of-hearing people and feel like I am a great fit with the DAS team. Great acts are made up of small deeds, and even small deeds can appear big for the clients and consumers we serve.”
